Everyone gave Joe a hand for his handling of our Gem and Mineral Club display at the Garden Club Show.  It was well done.

The Garden Club was real pleased with our part of the show and asked us to do it again.

Mr. Duncan read a thank you note from Mabelle and Fred Claussen.

A thank you note from Mr. Baeskins was read.  We are very glad to see him back in circulation again.

Mr. Grimm gave a very brief report on the Lapidary Class held at his home.  Jeannine brought a pin which she had made.  It was very nice.  Another class in this is supposed to meet at his house the 20th of May.  Bring your own rock and be there anytime after 6:30.

Mr. Duncan told us that diamond compound may be used on all of the polishing.  Sandpaper may be used for soft stones.  He also told us that with a quarter horse motor a setup could be made for $15 that there is a aw on the market for $30 and a grinding wheel for $40.

Frank Howard said that he would like to take a course in identification of the different stones and minerals.

The Field trip will be May 29-30-31.  The group will go to Green Ranch near the Petrified Forest.  There will be Petrified Wood and Jasper.  This is near Holbrook where some might want to spend the night.  There will be fishing at Lyman Lake so bring your fishing tackle too.  Take Interstate 195.  Sunday another place may be visited.

We have a new member Mr. Fenessey who is a new resident of Ranchettes.

The meeting was adjourned.

Mr. Grimm gave a very interesting and educational talk on Indians up to the 17th century.  Our thanks to him for a very nice program.

Respectfully submitted by Mabelle Claussen, Sec.
