March 10, 1969 Community Building 8:00 pm

The monthly meeting of the Sunsites Gem and Mineral Club was called to order by our Pres. Mr. Paul Duncan. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.

The committee for the display which will be held in conjunction with the flower show are as follows: Joe Sitarz Chairman, assisted by Ralph Hamilton and Andy Szizepanik.

Mr. Duncan asked how many would like to study in small groups on minerals. Meetings to be held at members’ homes. Nothing was definitely decided.

Mr. Whitney told of an addition to be added to the building. Three rooms which would be used as hobby rooms. We were to think our ideas through on this.

The next field trip to be for fire agate to be found outside of Bowie several miles. The group to meet at 8:00 at Bob’s Café in Willcox. Each person to pay $1.00 for steak and Andy will be the chef. Marge Whitney to make a list of the other things members are to take.

The meeting was adjourned.

The program was put on by the Pebble Puppies 4-H Club from San Jose, Arizona. They had a very nice display and gave a talk on the display that each one had made. The leader, Mrs. Aston, had many interesting things to tell too. It was the first time that some of the group had given a talk and they all did well. Our group thanked them very much for coming.
