January 13, 1969 Community Building 8:00 p.m.

The meeting was called to order by Mr. White.  The report on the Christmas Party was read.  There was no old business.

Under new business Mrs. Baskins talked about the club having a 5th member for the Board of Directors.  She submitted the name of Mr. White.  Mr. Whitney seconded the nomination.  The vote was unanimous.  Mr. White accepted the office.  Mr. White turned the meeting over to our new President Mr. Paul Duncan.

Our new Pres. had a few things to discuss. He asked each person to write down the things that they were interested in out of the following:

A  - Archaeology
G - Geology

M - Minerals

L - Lapidary

J - Jewelry

P - Photography

He would like to have an educational program if the Club so desires.  He suggested we have a Rock Show.  He wanted us to think about how large a Club we would like to have.

Name tags for all were suggested.

The Field Trip is to be to the Whetstones.  Members to meet at 9:00 at the rest area at Texas Canyon.  The Sunsites members to meet at 8:00 am.   Take your lunch.

Mr. Duncan called a meeting of the Board members to be held at Mabelle Rice’s Wed. 22nd.

The program for the meeting was given by Mr. Clarke, Geologist for P. D. in Bisbee.  His beautiful slides and his commentary gave us the history of the Lavender Pit.  He was assisted by his lovely wife.  The Club joined in a big Thank You for this fine Program.

Respectfully submitted, Maybelle Rice, Sec.
